Special Event
2 May
5.30 - 7.30pm
Meet Dr Karen Serres Curator of Paintings at the Courtauld Gallery for a talk about the history of the gallery and its collection. Find out more about Boudin’s beautiful painting Deauville that’s currently on display as part of Preston’s Courtauld Connects project.

Eugène Boudin’s sunny view of Deauville, painted in 1893, of a fashionable seaside resort in Normandy favoured by Parisian holiday makers since the 19th century. The painting was chosen to go on display by workers from Courtaulds Ltd - now Red Scar Business Park in Ribbleton - that made rayon fibre and employed thousands of people from 1939 until its closure and demolition in the early 1980s.

Refreshments on the 2nd floor balcony from 5.30pm, talk 6.00 - 7.00pm.

Tickets £8 from Harris Eventbrite

Members of the Friends of the Harris enjoy discounted tickets for this event.
