Harris Live: Paul Birchall 'Conversing with the Minimoog'

Harris Live:Paul Birchall 'Conversing with the Minimoog'

Wednesday 3 April
A must for electronic music enthusiasts,  Wednesday 3 April sees the release of a remarkable new collection of songs from multimedia artist Paul Birchall called 'Conversing with the Minimoog'.

The album launch will be marked by a concert at the Harris Museum where Paul will perform his latest work which was inspired by the iconic Minimoog Model D Synthesizer - a musical instrument that has played a major role in shaping popular music since its release in 1970.

Paul has a notable musical pedigree consisting not only of his own projects but also collaborations with other distinguished practitioners including Marshall Jefferson, Jim Diamond, Candi Statton, K Klass, Snake Davis, Graeme Park, DJ Sneak, Martin Fry, Felix Da Housecat, Wang Chung, Cutting Crew, M People and Heather Small.

'Conversing with the Minimoog' is influenced by Paul's personal relationship with the Model D. He can be heard tipping his hat to past explorers of the technology but also uncovers new ground on which future Moogers will no doubt tread. Seminal musician Graham Massey (808 Sate, Bjork, and Biting Tongues) recently described Paul playing the Minimoog as being 'Like watching James Bond throwing an Aston Martin around' - so this event is not to be missed.

Conversing with the Minimoog is a must for lovers of virtuosity and musical adventure.
