Get Involved

Volunteer Survey Researchers

Harris visitors

Do you love museums and galleries and enjoy talking to people? We are looking for adult volunteers aged 16+ with a couple of hours to spare each week or month to chat to our visitors to find out more about them.

We value our visitor opinions and carry out surveys to help us learn how we can give them the best possible experience.

Our friendly, approachable volunteers make an important contribution to helping us understand our visitor needs. You will join our team to carry out questionnaire research, get involved in a varied programme of activities and events and help identify where we can improve our current offer.

Survey research is a great way to meet people, make friends or just to add to your 'customer service' or marketing experience on your CV. We rely on volunteers in many areas to add value to our services. Some of the activities we provide would not be available if it was not for the goodwill of volunteers and the time they give us.

No experience necessary. Training is provided with supervision in the initial period.

We are working with UCLan researchers to discover what the new Children's Space in the library means to you and your children. We are asking parents to take part in an enjoyable research exercise called the 'visual matrix'.

You will be asked to look at different images from the library and museum and invited to share your thoughts and feelings.

Meanwhile, your children will be kept entertained and will be well looked-after in the museum and library.

The session is likely to take place on an afternoon or early evening in August or September.

If you are interested in finding out more or definitely want to get involved, please contact Hugh Ortega Breton at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

We really look forward to working with you.
