Horrockses - Behind the Looms

Image of mill workers from Horrockses-behind the looms exhibition

Until late spring 2011
Our famous mill model of the huge Horrockses Yard Works complex was back in the Story of Preston gallery (gallery now transformed into Discover Preston) as the centrepiece of a new exhibition.

Horrockses – Behind the Looms, featured the stories of the people behind this great cotton company, including Samuel Horrocks, Sir Frank Hollins, Annie Hill and the memories of Preston cotton workers.

Also on display were the products that made this company the ‘Greatest Name in Cotton’. A must see for anyone who was interested in Preston’s industrial history.

Pick up a Preston History Walk, from the museum – a self-guided walk of Preston. Explore our historic city as part of your visit.
