Capturing the imagination of adults and children alike, Enchanted Worlds was a visual treat of painting, sculpture, animation, puppetry and illustration, as well as historic childrens’ book from the Harris Library. Dating from the 1780s to the present day, you could see important artworks, some loaned from galleries such as the Tate and the V&A, alongside work from the Harris’ own collection.
Within the exhibition you encountered fairies and mermaids, alongside wolves, witches and beasts - some characters were cute, others were far more fiendish! You could also see the famous Cottingley Fairy photographs up close, and decide for yourself if they were real or not.
