The Crimean War: Photography and Experience

Entent Cordial

18 Feb - 23 April 2006

Coinciding with the 150th anniversary of the end of the Crimean War (1854-1856), the first war to be documented by photographers, this exhibition showed original photographs and objects from the Harris Museum and Fulwood Barracks in Preston. It included work by Roger Fenton and James Robertson and compared their work with the experiences of two local soldiers who served during the conflict. The exhibition also explored the response of the people of Preston to the war.
