Post Brexit Preston: The Caravan Gallery Preston Pride of Place Project: Imagination & Inquiry Seminar and Book Launch

Join us for The Caravan Gallery's Preston Pride of Place Project book launch and the first of two seminars looking at post-Brexit Preston and people’s connection to place through photography and creativity.

Part 1 – Welcome drinks (5.30-6.00pm) and Caravan Gallery activity (6.00–6.30pm): An opportunity for you to share your stories, fascinating facts and memories about Preston in this interactive activity.

Part 2 – Book Launch and Presentation (6.30-7.10pm): The Caravan Gallery will launch their new publication recording the Pride of Place Project and give a talk about the link between art and place with In Situ and Community Gateway.

Part 3 – Public discussion (7.10-7.30pm): We want you to share your thoughts.

The Caravan Gallery is a collaboration between artists and photographers Jan Williams and Chris Teasdale to document the reality and surreality of the way we live today.

    Paul Kelly is the Community Empowerment Manager from Community Gateway

    Paul Hartley is a founding director of In-Situ, a socially engaged art organisation based in Pendle, East Lancashire.

    William Titley is a member of In-Situ and Senior Lecturer, Course Leader- MA Fine Art: UCLan

    Dr Julian Manley is a Research Fellow at UCLan and a member of the Psychosocial Research Unit

This is an event organised by the Harris Museum, Art Gallery & Library and UCLan.

For people unable to attend the evening event there is a chance to meet Jan and Chris from The caravan Gallery from 3.30pm in the #BeattiePreston gallery. Drop in. No ticket required for this afternoon event.
