For Young People

Sparks

Still life with fans made by Sparks participants

Sparks is for all you young artists (and wannabee artists!) aged 16-24. It is a flexible programme exploring contemporary art and culture and is your chance to get involved with the Harris behind the scenes and influence the way the Harris does things. Designing workshops, coming up with ideas for projects and future exhibitions, organising events and activities, taking part yourself, selecting professional artists to work alongside, working with Harris staff and generally making a difference! It will look great on your CV and help to widen your social circle. What’s not to like about this?

From 2015 - 2017 Sparks participants took part in a range of activities as part of the Dance First, Think Later contemporary art programme, including making animated films inspired by the Nothing Happens, Twice exhibition at the Harris. Take a look at some of their fantastic creations here
